For the record, I think the Spin It On lyrics are spot on. Inventive wordplay, grasping phrases at random, just like he uses "my salamander" in Getting Closer and the "breed controler born deceased" in Soily, I like how Macca sometimes reaches for the sky and pulls odd things from out of thin air - makes the song more interesting and stand out more. Kurt Cobain's another one who likes to use random strange imagery, that maybe he wasn't even sure what he was describing, but whatever it was it suits the song well. But then again, it's not everyone's cup-of-poetry.
Oobu Joobu is more fun than Spin It On, and better music too.
bottom line is, if you did crappy lyrics, go buy BTTE.
p.s: i'm sorry but anyone defending McCartney's "spin it on" just sounds like a fanboy to me, who is blind to everything but McCartney's shining face in the clouds like a God...
