We have non-macca song....none macca album....why not NPC musician of the day!
Give us your Musican of the day....and tell us why he or she gets your nod.

Cliff Williams, Bassman for AC-DC is my Musician of the day.

His bass playing compliments his rhythm section perfectly.
His sound is very warm and adds plenty of personality to songs like Sin City and Love Hungry Man

I immediatly start playing air-bass when a hear a catchy Cliff Williams bass line.
Cliff Williams. NPC Musician of the Day.

O.k......I guess it's my go!

NPC Musician of the Day : Rush drummer Neil Peart
I was listening to Rush "Moving Pictures" today and I was just blown away by this outstanding player. Neil is just... so... well.....perfect.
"Moving Pictures" demonstrates just how good he is. With monsterous playing on tracks like Tom Sawyer and Limelight.

The fact that this trio from Toronto sounds like five piece band is largely because of Neil's exceptional drumming

Anybody got any musicians outside the MACCA circle they wish to praise?

I've been listening to the incredibly hyped band from the UK, The Arctic Monkeys the last little while. They aren't exactly my cup of tea, but man they do have some energy. I would think if I were still 20, I'd be screaming their praises....as an old guy, yeah, they're pretty cool. :)

I was just thinking how their stuff sounds like the really rockin stuff on Back to the Egg. The hit You Look Really Good On the Dance Floor, reminds me a lot of SPin It On.

Anybody heard of the Von Bondies ?
Check out their 2004 album and the track "C'mon C'mon" - the best thing I can say about it right now is that this ebullient rocker is a natural heir to "Come on Come on" from the Fab Four. Let me explain:

the latter was the working title of what became "Everybody's Got Something to Hide Except for Me and My Monkey" !

C'MON C'MON - INNIT GREAT OR WHAT :D

I've been listening to other tracks off their 2004 album on Amazon. They're very good ! I was told the Von Bondies were initially produced by
The White Stripes (I mean, the guy of the White Stripes). They have another producer now. They may have another album out soon, I don't know. They're supposed to have a homepage...I'll try and locate it through Google and have a look.
