Best vocal harmonies

The Beatles was the group that always stood up(I think The Hollies was also a great contemporary vocal harmonies group)since the early days for their vocal harmonies but I ever think that the apex was on "Abbey Road" album. They applied all their vocal capacities to do the most beautiful vocal harmonies of their careers(as a group)... but that really was their "swan song" before the break-up...

Because is actually the only one of their 3-part harmony songs that I really like - I suppose "This Boy" is OK, but "Yes It Is" just sends me to sleep!

Huh? Which ones in particular, Megs? Maybe I don't hear it. I've always considered White and Let It Be to be the two most un-harmonizing albums the Beatles put out. Help me out here.

Didn't the Let It Be album have some female backing singers on some songs?

I guess I get clouded by the all the bickering that went on during this period. It seems when John was singing with Paul he was somewhere else and didnt really put his heart into it.

I can sum up the Let It Be album quite easily - Paul was the only one who really gave a damn, and all of his efforts on said album were great. As for the others' songs, only Across The Universe was really great, the others were all right but nothing special, the music is good, but the lyrics are nothing special by a long way on John & George's songs. And the two jams, Dig It and Maggie May, well, just take them as they are, just improvisation.

Well, not quite. Not everthing Macca touched turned to gold. Just look at the Mac2 album for a start. And there's the odd howler here and there with The Beatles, although not a lot . . .
