let it be naked??? Why[?]

Because it will be "stripped" of all the layers of sugar coating and glitter that Phil Spector spewed all over it! Yippee.

If you thin about it only 3 tracks on the let it be album is overproduced with Spectors wall of sound things..

The long and winding road (and the original version are already on anthology 3)

Across the universe &

I me mine..

the others sound naked and the way they sound on bootlegs.. so unless they release a double cd or a single cd with alternate takes and unreleased songs/jams I don´t see the point in releasing it.

I think the point is that the sound will be MUCH better than a bootleg, quality-wise, and I think it's a very worthwhile project. Spector crapped all over it, to be honest. Not just 3 songs. Some of it is not so blatant as female back-up singers and strings, but it's there all of the same.

Would need to check Jamie, but I thought the versions on "1" were all the original, as released versions.

Anthology 3 has an "as intended" version of Long and Winding Road. But I think this was an alternate take to the one used on Let It Be. I'm expecting the new Let It Be to be all the original takes, but without the Spectorisation.

The version of The long and winding road on anthology 3 IS the Let it be version without the overdubs! Check the Anthology 3 sleeve notes.
