Apples: What was your favorite Apple on a label?

Postby DylansMrJones » Thu May 22, 2003 8:47 am

With a number of variations on the apples on the Apple Records label, is there a particular version of the label that you thought looked the best?

Was it the blue apple on Ringo's BACK OFF BOOGALOO single?

Was it the original green apple, like on the original white album?

Was it the red one on the US version of the LET IT BE album?

Was it that very different yellowish apple on John's IMAGINE single?

How about the orange-red apple on George's ALL THINGS MUST PASS album?

I loved the red apple on the US version of the LET IT BE album. I don't even know why it seems important.

Whoa, now we're getting too obscure even for me!

I prefer the rare Italian 12 inch of Hey Jude where they switched the apple for a banana. [;)]

I was only 6 years old when the Apple label was launched. I thought it was cool as hell to watch an apple spinning on the turntable! It was pretty easy to spot a new Beatles single from a distance in the record department! The simplistic design of the Apple label was visually pleasing.

You can't beat vinyl. My record deck's been in store for a few years. I'm about to move house, and I'm really looking forward to setting it up and getting those bananas apples spinning again.

Original green as on the White Album.

I thought the label on the jam record from George's ATMP was pretty cool [8D].
