Ron Howard's Beatles documentary

Postby efghijiloveyou » Thu Jul 17, 2014 11:24 pm

Apparently Mr. Howard is in the process of filming a documentary about the Beatles touring years, using live footage, including footage shot by audience members and also featuring sound board mixes from, I suppose, various live concerts. Hmm...I wonder (hope) if this film may also be coupled with a live album? After all, there has never been a cd version of "The Beatles Live at the Hollywood Bowl", much to my dismay. Anyway, it's got the cooperation and blessings of Paul, Ringo, Yoko and Olivia so it looks like it's going to be well done and a lot of fun.

i'm assuming it will be a major release, covering movies or tv, dvd and cd, that's why i'm hoping the bootleg series 64 covers more studio material, the live material will be more than covered and I'd love to hear unheard Hard Day's Night songs

Well, Digs, the problem is these recordings made in 1964, live or studio, must be released to the public before January 1st, 2015 in order to be protected under copywrite law. So, I expect some live recordings to be issued with the Bootleg album. I get that you want more studio recordings (I'm with you), but as it's a digital only release, I don't see why we can't get the best of both worlds.

"The Beatles: Eight Days A Week- The Touring Years" is the (somewhat longwinded) title of the documentary that will have its theatrical release in the U.S. on September 16, 2016. The film will also stream exclusively to Hulu subscribers the following day (which doesn't include me ). The film will have its WORLD premiere in London on September 15. The documentary will explore The Beatles' touring days from the Cavern to Candlestick Park, uncovering their inner workings- how they made decisions, created their music and built their collective career together.

I am suffering from Beatles burnout and will not spend the money on it. How many times do we need to hear how great they were, how popular and how the girls went crazy? :-@
We all definitely need to hear another version of All My Loving and I Want To Hold Your Hand %-(

What will make this for die hard fans will be the unseen footage included. Apparently there's home movie footage from Candlestick as well as some press conference stuff. Although the cashing in talking heads will definitely be a turn off for some.
Man I could smell your breath a mile away.

I'm looking forward to it. I love "All My Loving" and "I Want to Hold Your Hand" and would never allow myself to suffer 'Beatles Burnout'. :-?? No one puts a gun to your head and tells you you must listen even when you don't feel like it...sheesh! These things are made for those who want to watch them, nothing more. I don't understand the ennui of the 'fan' who's sick and tired of the very thing he/she claims to be a fan of.
