Not posted on this in a while.

They've just put their heads down on NYE 1961, ready to wake up for the Decca studio test the next day. One thing that really hit home with me, that I'd never noticed before, is how quickly the Decca audition comes after Brian takes them over. It's only about six weeks after - he really sorted them something quickly.

The Hamburg chapters are a blast – new interviews with Klaus, Astrid, Jurgen and all the rest. There's a also a great few pages where he just lists quotes from Cavern kids talking about the Beatles on stage in late 61.

It's also not really been emphasised in other books how the writing stopped pretty much between 59 and 62. They only brought Like Dreamers Do, Love of the Loved and Hello Little Girl back into their sets in late 61 because they wanted to play 'new' material.
