"Best Year" of Beatles records

Postby Jeff in Ohio » Thu Jun 09, 2011 3:37 pm

Listening to the remastered White Album the other day, I came to the conclusion that 1968 was (for me) the best year of Beatle music releases (Lady Madonna, White Album, HeyJude/Revolution). 1967 probably a close 2nd (PennyLane/Strawberry Fields, Sgt Pepper, Magical Mystery Tour). If you had to select just ONE YEAR of Beatle records, which year would it be? 1964, 1965, 1966, 1967, 1968, or the combined 1969-70.
I'm painting a room in a colorful way, and when my mind is wandering, there I will go.

That's a tough one. Do I go with 1969 just because Abbey Road was released? Or do I go with the 63-34 era? Man oh man...

Uh, 1965 is my final answer. Phew go it in before the final buzzer. But then again 1964 was pretty amazing too.

Wait can I change my answer I would like to pick the following 1963, 1964,1965,1966,1967,1968,1969,1970, 1994, 1995,1996 (had to include 1994-1996 because of the Anthologies and Live @ BBC)

Seriously though for me it would be starting with the release of Beatles For Sale in late 1964 and ending with Rubber Soul in late 1965. And let's not forget HELP! was in between.
