Question about Yesterday

Postby EddieV » Sat Oct 17, 2009 2:39 am

Just read Mark Lewishons book and when The Beatles toured Great Britain in 1965 it said that Paul played Yesterday on with a piano on it, true?

Any videos or audio from this?

i have never heard this. that, alone, doesn't make it not true. but if none of us had ever heard of this...maybe it is not true.

I can't imagine the song being done with piano. And why would he, if he'd just done it in Blackpool on guitar that summer? The footage of that performance of "Yesterday" (from Anthology) shows him playing guitar.

The following is from...www.beatlesbible.com

The Beatles' only UK tour of 1965 was also their final one as a group. It began with two shows at the Odeon Cinema in Glasgow.

The tour lasted 10 days, and saw The Beatles perform in nine venues across eight cities. Throughout they played a set comprising 11 songs: I Feel Fine, She's A Woman, If I Needed Someone, Act Naturally, Nowhere Man, Baby's In Black, Help!, We Can Work It Out, Yesterday, Day Tripper and I'm Down. Paul McCartney performed Yesterday solo on an electric organ.
