Love is a Matter. Didn't care for it. Could it have been written by Paul? Sure but sung differently.

The other one I couldn't listen to on my computer.

i'm not in love...by 10cc was really wings-ish.

peter pumpkinhead by xtc (lead by andy partridge) always had a macca sound.

crowded house (better be home soon) always were very melodic

about 20 years ago, there was a song by a german band (gosh i wish cologne girl was back here, always had a bit of an e-crush on CG) called freiheit. they did a song called keeping the dream alive. it was a beautiful ballad that everyone thought was paul. it never took off. too bad. you tube it and see what you think. it was a great, great song that deserved better recognition (sigh, a lot like parts of paul's solo career).

billy joel alwayd had a bit of macca in him. so did much of elvis costello's more melodic work.

Matthew Sweet reminds me of The Beatles/McCartney; very good melodic rock with tight harmonies and a little Lennon cynicism.

...he had the jangly guitar thing going and everything. i had a few of his albums before he seemingly disappeared.

he may have even recorded something with suzanna huffs (?) of the bangles fame.
