I also think that Loving Flame is one of the best Macca songs. The first time I heard it and saw the beautiful, I was blown away. I can't understand why people refer to this song as 'weak'.

I'm with you there, Keith. I think it's one of his better post-Beatle ballads, for sure.

The only criticism I have of Your Loving Flame is that I think there should have been one more verse before the guitar solo, it comes too soon in the song.
I think it is a McCartney classic, and I said this as soon as Driving Rain came out. It's a down right disgrace that a song this beautiful isn't on the radio!!

Well, look at it this way: everything on the radio is crap these days anyway, so it's not like Paul would be in good company. Maybe the T.V. special will give more people a chance to listen to this beautiful song. (And other songs from the VERY underrated "Driving Rain!"

I heard it in the elevator the other day.[;)] It reminds me of Only Love Remains..from GMRTB. Nice tune..but a little sucky for my tastes...now Maybe I'm Amazed....that's the way they should be done.[:)]

(OLR is from PTP)

You can't expect every ballad to be as great as Maybe I'm Amazed!

How can Loving Flame be a "nice tune" AND "a little sucky"? Personally, I think it's a GREAT tune. However, I don't know if it's in my top 10 ballads from Macca. But in the Top 10 of the past 15 years, for sure. As far as ballads go anyway.

Yes, "Your Loving Flame" is a beautiful song. My husband and I love it. I'm gonna put it on right now and listen to it on the computer.[:)]
