Well then how about So Bad? Isn't that one a little too syrupy?

Hmm..yeah sorta. I mean, I can see what you're saying. But being such a big fan of Macca's ballads, I find it hard to call many "syrupy". But yeah, if any are "syrupy", it would probably be that song.

I hate those mid-eighties-trying-to-be-experimental songs like Pretty Little Head (but I like Mac II[?]). There are more of those on PTP, can't remember them all. Spies Like Us is pretty weak too.

Actually for me, "Mary had a Little Lamb" is one of my favourites. Just take a listen to all the little things going on in it, the guitar licks and harmonies. The melody is just great.

I dont realy hate any of Pauls songs or anything, but what of the ones with lyrics that dont seem to make sense? Like Juniors Farm (one of my favorites) theres a poker man, a sea lion, an eskimo, Ollie Hardy, whats he talking about? In London Town he has a Rozzer wearing a pink ballon about his foot. what does this mean?
But realy there are no bad Paul songs, just people with bad taste!

I don't mind nonsense lyrics at all. In fact, I love them. John, of course, was great at it too. A song doesn't always have to *mean* anything to me. I look at surreal lyrics as an art form. Look at I am the Walrus or Monkberry Moon Delight. Total nonsense. Yet the words somehow paint such a beautiful picture. I love it.

She's well acquainted with the touch of the velvet hand like a lizard on a window pane
The man in the crowd with the multi coloured mirrors on his hobnail boots
Lying with his eyes while his hands appear he's working overtime
A soap impression of his wife which he ate and donated to the National Trust

Some of John's best lyrics imho. And what does it mean? Nothing!
