Paul on CNN

There was an interview with Paul on CNN this evening just before Larry King @ 9pm. Paul started rehearsing in LA this week and CNN caught got an exclusive interview. They played a rehersal of FREEDOM, and it sounded great. Paul sang the chorus with (if you can image) more vitality. The band was really having fun with this, wish I had my VCR going.

I saw the very tail end of it. Missed the entire interview. All I saw was like the last minute where they were showing Paul and the guys playing Freedom at the Super Bowl. Man, I forgot just how GOOD that performance was! That rendition ROCKED! Rusty totally jazzed it up with heavy guitar distortion, and Abe was wailing on the drums!!

Man---I taped that from the SUPER BOWL, and when I first saw it, I was totally convinced that the music part was pre-recorded, because the solo sounded like Clapton's version on the recording. I'm probably wrong--senility is setting in already!!!

Paul has been in Los Angeles all week long. He started rehearsals on his own Monday and was join by the rest of the boys on Tuesday. He did an interview with CNN shown last night about 8:45pm where they had also showed Paul and the band performing 'FREEDOM'. This version sure sounded great and fresh.

OK--was it a new version, or the one from the Super Bowl? Need the info (Dr Evil here) [:D]

From the clip I saw at the end of the interview, I'm almost certain it was from the Super Bowl.

Thanks, Ramster. I put a tape in, tuned to CNN all anight, so i'm sure they probably replayed it at some point...now..to just find the time to FF thru 6 hours LOL

Noticed a few giveaways that convinced me it was new and not from any live performance.
No crowd cheering at all
again at the end Rusty goofs around on the guitar
Paul's vocal energy and inflections during the chorus was like nothing I heard from Concert NYC, Superbowl or any of the live versions from the 1st leg of the tour.
the CNN interviewer said it was exclusive rehearsal footage
