Yeah, pretty bad date. However, I wouldn't expect the Kennedy Center committee to move the whole show to an entirely different date just for SIR Paul! And I don't think Paul would go for that either.

McCartney delays his Kennedy Center kudos

WASHINGTON - Paul McCartney will receive Kennedy Center Honors in 2003 instead of this year due to a scheduling conflict caused by a family wedding.

McCartney asked to withdraw because his niece is getting married over the Dec. 7-8 weekend, when the honors are scheduled...

...I'm sure everyone knows by now that Macca is out & Paul Simon is in; thought it was interesting that this is the first time in the programme's 25 year history that an announced honoree has declined to receive the honour, AND the 1st time the center has agreed to postpone the award.

Can't get into Paul Simon. His stuff with Garfunkel was most certainly awesome, but I think a lot of his solo work leaves a lot to be desired. I like "You Can Call Me Al" though. LOL

al, good video with chevy chase. I used to listen to kodachrome a lot.
He really got into african music and stuff like that. Not my cup of tea.

I think it's really neat that they're willing to wait a year for Macca, and that they're giving an award to P. Simon. I love his work, especially the African stuff - great to dance to! I also like the video with C. Chase - really funny!
