TRUE STORY: Early in his comedy career, MEL BROOKS was advised by none other than BUDDY RICH, to give up the gags and stick with the drumming! Gospel Truth!
Buddy Miles...eh. too heavy-handed for my taste.

Didn't know that about the Brooks-Rich connection. Very interesting.

I still say Stewart Copeland for best drummer, but I also like Cozy Powell, Roger Taylor, Mickey Curry (except on the 18 til I die album), and of course Ringo. Oh, and Rick Allen - extra kudos for doing it with one arm!

Bass players, well, Paul, naturally, and also Sting, John Deacon. Not that well up on bass, so that's about it.

Guitarists, well, I appreciate Hendrix's talent, but he's never been my cup of tea. Bit too psychedelic for me. My fave guitarists:

Eric Clapton
Keith Scott
Brian May
Andy Summers
George, of course!
Mick Jones

And I can't think of any others that really grab me. I suppose it'll do, though!

I could never get into rush. I can't stand the lead singer's voice.
doesn't mean their not talented. I do think their lead singer (i can't remember his name) definitley wins the best mullet contest.

His name is Geddy Lee. Which reminds me, he should be named for one of the best bass players. The man is amazing. But I'm not that into Rush either.

call me a psychotic dadaistic submental defiler of marsupial carcasses, but my lists on this topic have no order to them(just as in real life)...I thought it was simply about great players who came to mind. Smile away!
