I have now managed to hear 8 album tracks, and two live versions of the album tracks, so, in essence, I've heard 10 of the 15 songs (deluxe edition)...not to mention the samples of everything but "Scared."
All I can say right now is, I am looking forward to getting my CD in the mail on Tuesday. If I get access to more tracks before then, I will certainly listen to (and download) them, but it will still be great to get the whole CD, and listen to it in its entirety, from track one thru track last.
If anyone thought KISSES ON THE BOTTOM was the new direction Paul was taking, they are in for quite a shock. Aside from those songs being covers, the entire sound and direction is completely different. Right now, I'd say it's ELECTRIC ARGUMENTS meets MEMORY ALMOST FULL, with a touch of TUG OF WAR, a dash of MCCARTNEY II, and a pinch of PRESS TO PLAY. And even certain elements of DRIVING RAIN.
I don't dislike ANY of the ten songs I've heard. Some sound better than others, but all sound good, and all sound interesting.
But, it's early in the game here...so, don't want to get too specific. Other than to say "Queenie Eye" is already one of my favorite Paul solo songs (because I have played this sucker about 50 times in the last few days).
