Ultimate Paul is Live Set List

Postby beatlelarry » Mon Dec 30, 2002 5:35 pm

If you are like me, I was hoping for a more varied set list from Paul this time around in his concert tour. I mean, the Beatles songs are gems, but I get kind of tired hearing Let It Be and Hey Jude, especially with the long ending and the arm waving, etc. For once I wish Paul would dig really deep into his excellent catalog and play something different. So here's my Ultimate Paul Set List. Please feel free to post your own or, in the alternative, get joy out of lambasting my list!

Come and Get It
Back Seat of My Car
Three Legs
Waterfalls
I've Had Enough
Hi Hi Hi
1985
Heather (2001)
Flaming Pie
Get It On
Monkberry Moon Delight
Famous Groupies
Beware My Love
My Love
About You

ENCORE

Helen Wheels
For No One

enjoy your fantasy, Larry.
Never in a million.
It's too esoteric, sorry. I found it sad that when Paul played lesser know tracks that the audience sat down. Especially for the DR tracks.

Personally I'd feel a bit shortchanged if Paul didn't play HEY JUDE or LET IT BE. Paul seems to have stuck to a number of setlist mainstays, and for good reason.

Then he slips into the set a few that he hasn't played on previous tours. HELLO GOODBYE and GETTING BETTER were great to hear revived.

Hopefully there will be a few more tours. I'd like to see Paul break out these songs:

JUNIOR'S FARM - would this be a great opening tune or what?

MARTHA MY DEAR - another great McPiano tune

UNCLE ALBERT/ADMIRAL HALSEY - has Paul EVER brought this to the stage? I think his band could pull it off nicely. Go Wix!

TOO MANY PEOPLE - one of my favorites. This would rock the house.

ROCKY RACCOON - Who wouldn't love to see Paul play this in an acoustic set?

YOU WON'T SEE ME - I never see anyone mention this song.

YOU NEVER GIVE ME YOUR MONEY - We got the teaser version in 2002. How about the whole song with the full band?

THE NIGHT BEFORE - What a classic!

I'LL FOLLOW THE SUN - We can retire We Can Work It Out.

DAY TRIPPER - to paraphrase someone else in the forum, as much as this is a John song, Paul's seems to be the lead vocal to my ears. Let's hear it!

I could keep going, but I'm sure someone's already done it somewhere else in the forum.
