Waterfalls video commentary

This is such a hilarious commentary by Paul watching the Waterfalls video, I had to share it. Apologies if some have seen it before.

God, me too, isn't it just heavenly? The way the lyrics are absolute nonsense seem to make it mean so much more

Beautiful nonsense nonetheless. Switching between a sort of public service announcement warning against the dangers of waterfalls, polar bears and glossy motor cars, with a chorus which consists of a crying, poetic plea for love. It's like... "The Loneliest Tannoy."

public service announcement ??! :-??

methinks, maybe, yer a wee bit off base there : missing the forest, as they say

try thinking of it as a precursor to 'don't be careless, love'

same sentiment, same thoughts

jus' sayin', my friend

just offerin' a humble opinion, oh wise WC, hope i don't seem out of line
lots of thoughtful posts, tho... :salute

I've always loved this song.
I'm so glad he kept it "simple", orchestration would have smothered its simple beauty. I wish he'd take the same approach with some other ballads, like Somedays from Flaming Pie. There's a nice song somewhere under the overproduction. Not that I don't like orchestration on other songs, Beatle and non-Beatle alike. It's overproduction that I don't like.
My favorite George album would have been even greater had Spector not gotten his heavy hands on some of the tracks.

not to veer too off topic, but i have to ask...do you have the remastered version of all things must pass? i used to listen to the original cd release. and i found it so muted, so muffled, it was bad. real bad. and i hated spector for ruining these songs i remember being so great. then i got the remastered ATMP cd. and it was glorious. every guitar strum, every horn, every..thing. it very well could be my favorite solo beatle album...at least now that i have heard it the way it was supposed to sound.

now you can go back to your regularly scheduled conversation...
I want to tell her that I love her a lot, but I got to get a belly full of wine.

i agree wholeheartedly, big c...if savile isn't savvy on that remaster, he/she/it should skeedaddle pronto: i, too, rank it with the very best of any solo, with the very best beatle and among the best of any of my albums...

back in the day, i really could have cared less for the spectorized version; it proved paul was right, all those years ago...

but the remaster: glorious !

even 'let it be' went from 'uh yeah...' to 'OH, YEAH !!' w/it's remastering

maybe i just can't stand spector
