we all know paul has a lot of great songs. maybe even a few not so great ones, as well. but what makes a great album? does every song on an album have to be great? i'd suggest no. but it sure wouldn't hurt to have a sequence of songs, back to back, that build up our expectations for what is (hopefully) to follow. so i ask, what 3 songs, sung consecutively, on one album...are best?
i'd suggest what starts out on side two of tug of war.
ballroom dancing
the pound is sinking (with absolutely the best, and best sung, middle eight maybe he's ever done)
wanderlust (shame it has to be a hit for it to be known, this is one of his very best)
those are mine, fine poeple. what would yours be?
