Back in the US CDs chart news

Paul's Back In The US Cds are set to enter the US chart (I assume Billboard) in the top 10!
Great news for Paul and his fans.
Congradulations Paulie.[:)]
I bet he's thrilled. Been a long time since he's had a top ten.

Awesome! I know Flaming Pie made it to #2. Where did you hear the news about Back In the U.S.?

At Paul's official website this morning.
Did FP make it to #2?
With virtual no air play?

Yeah - FP came out right after the Anthology. I think that helped first week sales a lot. Plus, there was a lot of non-traditional marketing behind FP. (Selling it in grocery stores, etc.) I remember reading about it in trade magazines back then.

Flaming Pie made no2 both sides of the Atlantic.

So, another top 10 for Paul over there, eh?

FP was greatly helped by a massive over-shipping of product. Many returns happened, so the intitial chart success was kind of bogus on that one.

Actually, they stated using Soundscan to track sales before FP was released, so chart success was based on actual sales, not shipments.

Hmmm..not sure about the timing on that one. I got this from a guy who ran a huge record distributorship at the time....also read it in a trade paper. I suppose it could have been skewed someway, but not sure. At any rate, I'm glad that fans are buying BITUS in droves...

If it is top ten this week, Paul's cd is a remarkable achievement with competition of Shania Twain, Christina Aguilera, GH, and others. That's pretty good company
