SIR Paul McCartney is planning to commemorate Jimi Hendrix when he headlines the Isle Of Wight Festival next month.
The legendary axeman played the event in the 70s and honoured The Beatles at a different show where Macca was in the audience.
IOW boss John Giddings explained: “It took Paul six weeks to agree to play this year.
“He will acknowledge Jimi Hendrix and what happened all those years ago.”
