Another "final tour" rumour in UK paper

Postby tristanjblythe » Fri Jul 31, 2009 6:33 am

OK so this is from The Sun so get your large pinches of salt at the ready but its a "Macca is planning a massive final tour" rumour. One of the things that makes me question this is that it includes China and he has already said he'll boycott China over its animal rights. Anyway make your own mind up.

Hopefully it is just a rumour!!

If he stops touring, I hope he still will release new music

"The thought of Macca's pasty-white pins might not sell any tickets, though."

Sorry, for some reason that cracked me up.

While I don't trust "The Sun" very much, & I could easily see this being made up...it might not be far off from true.
What I think we will always get is some amount of one-off gigs, or short jaunts- exactly like what has been going on over the last year or two, or three. He might do a farewell world tour, & if he does I'd be pretty sure that it'd be his last.
As long as he plays now & then, I'll be only too glad to travel to wherever as long as the quality of his work continues to be great. I might even travel for one last good show, but if things go down hill, & they must, to some degree at least, eventually, then I'd be happy to just keep my great memories...the beginning of which should be starting this coming Thursday in Boston at Fenway Park.
Blessings!!
Om Namah Shivaya !!!!

I thought Paul just said in an interview a week or so ago that he preferred doing occasional gigs and didn't want to do another tour. I would actually be shocked if he did another world tour.

Just a rumour for now.

If it turns out to be true... what do you think he'll choose as his last live song ever? The traditional "The End"? Something more surprising?
