Positive and negative surprises in setlists!!

Postby EddieV » Wed Oct 29, 2008 11:05 am

Paul has played a lot of songs during his career after The Beatles

Which songs don´t you understand he played and which ones surprised you !

Why in the h.... did he play Cottonfields in 1972 and why on earth did he play Ebony and Ivory during his world tour 1989-90

Surprised in the good way was that he played Getting Better and You Never Give Me Your Money in 2002-2003, not really thought of these, but they were great!!!

Positive when they were first played: Day in the life / Mrs Van. / In Liverpool / Here Today / Helter Skelter / Too many people

Negative: Hippy Hippy Shake did not really work as an opener and it is a negative bloody surprise every time he plays C'Moon again!

No negatives. maybe more variety, but I'm not really complaining about that.
Positives: Flaming Pie on his last tour as well as Too Many People.

Positives - Helter Skelter plus any Wings.

Only one negative - that rediculous medley Wings used to perform '72/'73 of "Little Woman Love and C Moon. It just didn't work for me.

No problem with C Moon on its own although perhaps it needs a rest.
Man I could smell your breath a mile away.

positive: helter skelter, please please me, i`ll get you, here today, getting better, she`s leaving home, a day in the life, mrs vanderbilt, too many people/she came in through the bathroom window, you won`t see me, something (full band version, not ukulele only), all things must pass, and i love her (unplugged), rockestra theme (concert for monserrat), i wanna be your man (1993 tour), strawberry fields forever/help/give peace a chance (1989-90 tour)

negative: fixing a hole, you never give me your money, mother nature`s son, the end/sgt. pepper, we can work it out (2002 tour version). i just don`t like the way thet he played them. 6 years ago, when i was able-so lucky to asist to a maca`s concert here in my country i was disapointed when he played you never give me your money on the psicodelic piano, i like the songs just the way that they appear on the record, i also hated the the end-sgt. pepper medely, i want to hear those songs complete!
We can make it to Mexico City...AGAIN!!!!!

I think Paul does and have done most of his songs best live. Even a lot of his beatles tunes are done best on stage. It depends which song you are tired of and don´t want to hear. Let ém in and C moon could have been leaved out.
You must appreciate the day...
