This is a fine album folks.
I highly recommend.
I was never an over the top fan of these dudes...but it truly is a wonderful record.

i'm going to be honest here...i respect your opinion, GIG...you seem to have great taste in both movies and music. i, too, have never been an over the top fan of these guys...or even a below the bottom fan either. i have an almost unnatural dislike for adam duritz and his silly dreadlocks. on your recommendation, i will at least give it a try.

gotta be better than that joan baez (?) remake they did a few years back, right?

Well Chris it's better than the Joan Baez thing.
Don't get me wrong, the album will not change your life.
It is however, a good record from a band I never cared much for.
That in itself, makes the surprise even more pleasant.

If you really don't like them, then maybe you should avoid it.
I don't wanna owe you for the price of the album if you think it's shite!

But seriously I find it an enjoyable listen.

i won't purchase the album, at least right away. i know someone who owns it. but on the strength of your recommendation...i will give it an honest listen with an open mind.

funny how we can be biased for or against something so much we decide whether or not we like it before we give it an honest shot.

can't believe i'm saying this...but...

its pretty good. it certainly doesn't suck. i actually like a few of the songs on it. i noticed they tried hard to make it not sound like a counting crows album (thats a good thing) several songs are getting regular rotation on my local station. if they grow on me any more...i may actually (gulp) purchase it.
