Which songwriters are in pauls elite league in your opinion it could be any one except the other beatles.remember its songwriters not performers.What about neil finn and bono?

Paul Simon approaches Macca. As do Brian Wilson, Jagger/Richards, Kate Bush (think about it - some amazing songs), Bowie (in his heyday), Fagen/Becker, Roger Waters, Pete Townsend, Ray Davies, Page/Plant, Ulvaeus/Anderson, and of course Dylan.

All listed are great songwriters. But who else besides Macca has done so many different types and styles...and did them well?

There's Paul and John and then there is everybody else , Neil, Dylan , Zepplin, Bob Seger, Bad Co., Stones ,Who, Doors, Clapton, etc.
there is no such thing as a ' bad ' Paul McCartney album, period .

can i add phil collins, elton john, rodger hodgson. but macca is still#1 on my list.
