recently I got a Lennon DVD as a present (the 69 Toronto concert)

as I watched I realized that all the rockers in the show (who were older generation in 1969) were still alive and kicking:

Little Rchard, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis and Bo Diddley

So rock'n roll wasn't such an unhelathy profession after all ;)

He still performs once a month at a club in St. Louis called Blueberry Hill. The place holds about 300 people. I saw thim there a couple of months before seeing Macca back in 2002. Incredible show. Johnny B Goode, Rock and Roll Music, You Never Can Tell, heck - all of the great ones were played. He even duck walked.

A great national treasure. He's done some bad things, but haven't we all???
And in the end...

Today Paul remembers to toast Chuck with "Brown-Eyed Handsome Man." Cheers!

I really think Chuck Berry deserves more credit than anybody for making rock and roll what it is today. Elvis poplularized it, Chuck shaped it. The singer/songwriter/guitar player mold was made by Chuck.

For the life of me I don't know why the '50s rock legends that are still alive haven't been celebrated in America the way they should.
And in the end...
