Pink Floyd to play tribute concert for Syd Barrett?

He was the Pink in the Floyd. Athough those names were derived from other sources, Syd Barrett wrote what we enjoy so much. Yes indeed, we hope Pink Floyd will gather to pay tribute.

Well, considering that their best album without him was basically a tribute to him, it makes sense.
And in the end...

i don't know if i'd go so far as to say that he wrote the songs that we love so much. except for see emily play, i don't know if he wrote any of the songs that go down as classic pink floyd. but he did have his value. he founded the band. its fairly safe to argue that he inspired the songs that we love so much. he may have even been the one to teach (his replacement) david gilmore the guitar. sad, that he went into a brian wilson type of drug fueled paranoia. but the band went on to have a pretty remarkable career without him, even as they were singing songs about him.
I want to tell her that I love her a lot, but I got to get a belly full of wine.
