There's a LOT on it, it's soooo full of songs... and Frusciante is going nuts on it, his guitar work on it is totally brilliant. It has a few standouts on it.. but even though it has 28 songs, I don't think it quite has the quality of Californication, Blood Sugar or Mother's Milk. It's definitely not as good as say the White Album as double albums go. I actually think this is a case where the best songs could / should have made a stronger single album.

I'ld have to say that this far surpases Californiacation on my first listening. I didn't skip one song on SA yet on Cali I couldn't sit through a couple of the tracks. Though for the test of time, who knows? It's definatly no Mothers Milk.

I skipped through the gentler slower songs on first listening. Cut straight to the hard and funky tracks. Mind you, I did the same with Chaos too. And songs like This Never Happened Before later became my favourites.
