Blunt's You're Beautiful is lame-o emo to me, makes me cringe---but then some would say the same about Keane's Somewhere Only We Know----so I guess we're entitled to our own personal guilty pleasures, lol. AM&J gets me a little bit though too, forgot about that one.

Gilbert O'Sullivan, now there's an old timer. Always thought that dude had freaky hair. Alone Again was depressing indeed, but quite the McCartney-esque li'l melody, got really hooked on that one back in the day. He did get a bit of an ego with his success, I recall him making some rather critical remarks about Macca, who he'd be compared to occasionally.

He had a small string of gems. I picked up a then-new release of his 'bout 10 years ago on cassette called Every Song Has It's Day. It had only a couple of decent moments.

As for Emmylou, PW, you reminded me of her cover of Like Strangers, that one always made me widdy hott skip a beat--- :lol:

"Guru Replied" I can understand how "You're Beautiful" could make you cringe(though I do like the lyrics). How do you feel about Blunts new single "Wiseman"? I personally love it! It is great pop, song very well written.

As for Emmylou, the album is Pieces of the Sky - the song (with that phrase in which the title was taken) is "Boulder To Birmingham - my miscue.

Add "The Glow" by Bonnie Raitt - heart wrenching!

Oh I just thought of a good one.Don't laugh cause I know you had to have gotten teary eyed sometime in your life listening to this one especially if you saw the movie:
Miss Barbara Streisand's "Memories" from the movie "The way we were".
Robert Redford was the most gorgeous man on the planet in that film.
