These guys popped into my head recently, for some reason. I'd forgotten all about them. I think they were American, but I'm not sure. Nevertheless, they are a slice of power pop history that should be heard. They slipped through the cracks many years ago and are really obscure at this point. But I just got their "hits" CD and it's great! I actually think they named themselves after a quote of John Lennon's where he was asked why he named the group the Beatles and his reply was something along the lines of, "Why not? It could've been anything, like 'shoes'." Anyway, these guys deserve another listen (or a first listen if you're not familiar). They're Beatlesque, but closer to Badfinger.
