in NO way can i see that...Hitch had much more class than '1408' and it's director...
now, for my $, a better comparison would be more like freddie francis or even mario bava...
if you want to see a Hitchcock-like film...see 'disturbia'...minor, but good...

I was merely comparing the suspense of the first half of 1408 to "Hitch".

it ain't blasphemy..just bewilderment...just for the heck of it: you just stated that you thought the 'first half' of 1408 was suspenseful ( totally agree !): does that mean the last half left you a little less than..like maybe it was a bit repetative ?

Yes first half was fantastic and the final half hour it kinda fell apart for me. However, and it's a big however, the first half or more was more than the price of admission....I never claimed 1408 to be the greatest thriller of all time. It's just the best I'd seen in a very long time.

I loath gore flicks.In a movie world where a scary movie either means a gore flick or a lame "I know whatcha did" movie , 1408 was a treat.
