It'll be tough against Italy, but as you say, in the knockout stages anything can happen. The Italians havn't won a penalty shoot-out for donkeys years.

this is seriosly one of the worst calls i've ever seen by a referee,,.;..

it's not enough that the whole FIFA organization was against Australia including the referees, but WTF...

We were already into Added Injury Time about 10 seconds i think left, and Italy get awarded a Bogus penalty kick by the ref, basically handing them the match on a silver-platter. WTF!...

I'm so pissed right now, and will be for the rest of my life over this call, this was one of the most dissapointing, saddening, maddening moments of my life. I kid you not.

Had there not have been a "shady" referee that was obviously in cahoots with the Italian team, we would have gone into 30mins overtime to see who REALLY deserved to go-on to the next round.

Not only that, but to add to the conspiracy theory(which is more and more so becoming matter of fact), Guss Hiddink, our Australian coach, 4 years ago, coached South Korea, in the same 2nd round match to victory over Italy.
Not only that but if we had made it past this round, it would have meant Guss had coached 3 teams in a row to the semi-finals or better!

WTF.

FIFA, the shady spanish refereee, the rubbish officiating throughout the entire FIFA tournament....

NO TEAM COULD OVERCOME THESE KINDS OF ODDS STACKED-AGAINST THEM.

I defy you to find a team that can!

Australia should be in the semi-finals against the Ukraine, not the Un-Sportsman-like-at-least-half-the-team Italy...!

Did you see the guy's face as he dove-over the Australian player? he was smiling all the way down as he fell to the ground!!!!!!!!! :evil:

Then got into the fetal-position and covered his face, laughing his head-off under his hands, at which point, another player(his side) came over and whispered something in his ear.

Ain't it a coincidence that the ref was so-quick to make that call the moment the Italian player hit the ground???

WTF!!!!!

SO ANGRY...

This whole FIFA tourament should be VOID!

There are no words to describe the anguish of I & the Australian people over this bogus end-of-match call.

Aussies were despeerately unlucky right at the end there. But Lucas Neil slid on the ground when he should've stayed up - bad defending.
And you had chances to kill the game off
