The Day John Met Paul (Radio 2)

Postby Harrythebannister » Fri Jun 22, 2007 10:37 am

To be broadcast on Radio 2 on the 26th June between 10.30 & 11.30 PM.
Presented by "Whispering" Bob Harris, this doc marks the 50th anniversary of that hystorical day.
It will feature previously unaired recollections shared by Paul with Lennon's half sister Julia Baird.
Worth a listen!!!!

Yes. This'll be a good un and the book of the same title is excellent and in bookshops now. Pete Shotton said that the writer of the book had 'completely got the teenage Lennon'.

A fantastic documentary which kind of sends a shiver down your spine when you think of how important that day was. A great audio clip of The Quarrymen performing with a youthful John sounding not unlike Lonnie Donegan. The other members of the band, according to Cynthia Lennon just didn't have the same energy and drive to go to the top. Agreed, John Paul George and Eric just doesn't have the same ring somehow!!!!
