From a few days ago...
http://www.examiner.com/beatles-in-nati ... nce-leaked"DEC. 9 -- We're hearing that Paul McCartney will do two songs this Saturday on "Saturday Night Live."
Sources tell us the songs will be "Band on the Run" and "Jet."
And given in the past he's participated in some of the comedy sketches (like the classic Chris Farley one at left), who knows? Maybe he will again."
And from today...
http://www.examiner.com/beatles-in-nati ... ist-leaked"There's been much specualation about what Paul McCartney will sing tonight on "Saturday Night Live." (See our earlier report here with an early clue.)
Well now the mystery deepens. A source has told us about the rehearsal Paul McCartney and the band did for their "Saturday Night Live" live appearance tonight. We're told the band performed "Let It Be," "Maybe I'm Amazed" and "A Day in the Life"/"Give Peace a Chance" on a stage filled with Christmas lights.
This rehearsal, however, can be equated to a soundcheck for his live shows where he does all sorts of odd songs, so it's possible that none of these songs will be performed tonight.
An added note: Our source said on "A Day in the Life," McCartney flubbed the lyrics when he got to "he blew his mind out in car," singing instead, "and though the news was rather bad." He went back and corrected it."
