I love Ebony and Ivory, it would definitely be right up there in a Top 100 of mine. A "bad" song? How is it "bad"? Melody is catchy and infectious, performance and arrangement captures the spirit of the 80s, and and the lyrics have positive vibes, plus great duet with Macca and Stevie. Can't go wrong. What's your problem with it? I think it's right up there with all the best piano ballads of the era, like those done by Billy Joel and Elton John (Honesty, Just the Way You Are, Empty Garden etc). Placing it in context, it still holds up pretty well. Also the Tug of War demo of Ebony and Ivory is very nice too.
Are you slagging the song just because it was a "hit", a "number one" etc? For I can't find any other fault with the song in a melodic, harmonic, lyrical or performance sense. The craftsmanship is 100% there on that song.
