The song was slowed down after recording, which means in the studio Paul played that bassline even faster. What I love about Macca as a bassist is his obvious ability to go on improvised flashy flights of fancy (witness "I Want You (She's So Heavy)") but instead he just keeps it to an insanely good groove or melody which adds to the song so much.
