How many of us buy Ringo Cd's

Postby Harrythebannister » Sat Apr 21, 2007 7:21 pm

Have em all! - But don't always play them. His last few have been as good as anything Paul has released in recent years. Not so keen on the Polydor years though!

I agree with you! I buy all of Ringo's studio albums and am looking forward to the new one. It should be interesting with Dave Stewart producing.

Also, I wanted to vote but it won't let me. Is it because I'm a newbie?

My dad has half dozen of Ringo albums...all in vinyl, he did not buy his recent albums in CD yet so I listen to daddy´s vinyl records. Ringo, Goodnight Vienna, Beaucoups of Blues, Rotogravure, Old wave and Smell the roses and a single that I like so much - It don´t come easy/Early 1970. Ringo album is GREAT for Paul, John and George presence. I must buy Ringorama and Vertical Man soon.

I have a few and will probably end up with them all just to complete the collection. Hopefully the digital release/Best of wil remind people he did a hell of a lot of good stuff solo. Some albums stand up against any of the others solo efforts (esp. Ringo & Vertical Man).

My wife and I have an agreement, whenever there is a new Beatle or solo Beatle cd I have to get it..I also agree that ever since Time Takes Time he has put out some really consistently good albums..and I actually listen to them more then once..: ) I have put together a comp cd of his last 4 cd's and I listen to it all the time..

For me Ringo's solo career started with a flourish, dipped in the middle and then came good again in recent years. It seems to depend who produces him. The Vini Poncia & Arif Mardin produced albums of the late 70's were definately a disappointment whilst his recent Mark Hudson productions are gems. I just hope that the new album Liverpool 8 produced by Dave Stewart is as good although apparently it's a move away from the Beatly guitar based tracks to a more synthetic sound. Only time will tell if this is a good move or not!
