Starr To Set The Record Straight

Postby Mike » Fri Dec 15, 2006 8:58 am

Former BEATLES drummer RINGO STARR is so sick of the various myths and lies about him, he's decide to tell the truth about his life in a documentary. The 66-year-old musician is currently filming a tell-all movie of his life, which is set to be broadcast on British television next year (07). He explains, "It's an anthology we're doing on me."

Ringo Starr is making a documentary about his life.

The Beatles legend is tired of hearing myths and lies about himself and has decided to reveal the truth He said: "It's an anthology we are doing on me."

The 66-year-old drummer, who battled alcoholism after The Beatles split, will film the programme and speak to the people who know him best in the music industry.

A source told Britain's Daily Express newspaper: "To most of the general public, Ringo is still the Liverpudlian who simply got lucky by hooking up with Lennon and McCartney at the right time.

"Less is generally known about Ringo's story. He is speaking to people such as Beatles producer Sir George Martin in the film, and it is hoped people will go away with a better understanding of him."

Ringo was once described by the late John Lennon as the "heart" of The Beatles.
The documentary is set to be broadcast on British TV next year.

STARKEY: No, no, no, John, look, this lyric is based on the Tibetan Book of the Dead, just sing it like I wrote it, its a mantra...

JOHN: Bloody 'ell, I don't get it Ringo.

STARKEY: You don't have to get it. That goes for you too Paul... that bass part is all wrong, look..-- I've had it! OUT! OUT!

GEORGE MARTIN: But Ringo..

STARKEY: I said OUT! If you want to do somthing you gotta do it yourself. Geoff.... press record... I'll just track this bass and these drums, we'll get Lennon to fix his vocal later. Anyone got any speed, its gonna be a long night.

I didn't particularly want something like this. I wanted a huge Making-Of Documentary/Goofing of/stuff on his next CD release with the roundheads.

There were some humourous moments in the short documentary for Choose Love, but, overall the DVD portion of the record was quite insubstantial.
