Postby Lazarus_2 » Thu Jul 28, 2005 5:21 am

I'm The Greatest 9
Have You Seen My Baby 8
Photograph 9
Sunshine Life For Me (Sail Away Raymond) 8
You're Sixteen 8

Oh My My 9
Step Lightly 9
Six O'Clock 7
Devil Woman 9
You And Me (Babe) 9

85/100 = 8.5

Overall: 8.5/10

Notes:- Good record, Ringo would not surpass this level of quality until Time Takes Time in 1993.

Maybe because he didn't release one in between?

Ringo and GNV are his best 2, IMO. A few nice songs here and there on his latest efforts, though. It's nice to have Ringo back making some music.

Goodnight Vienna is actually one of the worst Ringo albums. If it wasn't for the title track and No No Song it would be very bad.

I think "Good Night Vienna" is generally overrated. It has not aged well.
A few tracks are outstanding: the title track, "Ooh Wee Baby", "Only You", "Snookeroo". Some tracks are just horrendous (at least for a R'n'R record) like "Husbands and Wives", "Occapella". It's just an "up-and-down" album, perhaps with more "downs" than "ups".

If I had to own one Ringo album, still haven´t got one, it would be this.
Know all the song and they are very good.
Must have been the album from Ringo with the best reviews?

Eddie, this one is great and worth having. You have Ringo and the "hits" - but all the album cuts are great. Six O'Clock is a great song written My Macca. (more on this song in an upcoming post.)
I Am the Greatest is penned by John. Macca, George and John and an all star cast play on this.

Have you heard: "Devil Woman?" smokin'.

If this album came out now, it would have gotten even more acclaim.

You know Macca plays the kazoo on your 16?
Paul and Lindas sing on 6'clock?
Magic.

I think the best things about Ringo are himself and his drumming - and Ringo's best album has got to be "Ringo" (1973) 8)

The same thing has happened to me a few times.
Like when I bought the "Cream at the Royal Albert Hall" DVD (2006) on someone's recommendation from this Forum (I guess McCastleman) and couldn't be happier with it !
