Cloud 9 was released in 1987. It contained a nr 1 hit single: Got My Mind Set On You. I think it has some nice songs (When We Was Fab, Cloud 9) but overall it's too much Jeff Lynne and too little George. You know, synths and all.
The only one I'm familiar with is "When We Was Fab" - I heard that song a lot on the day George died, they were playing it on everything.
As for synths, if they're done well, then yeah. Jeff Lynne knew how to work synths into songs artfully. So I should enjoy the album. If I ever find it . . .
