Traveling Wilburys Collection

Postby Harrythebannister » Fri Jun 22, 2007 6:18 pm

I just wondered what the general view on the new box set was. I received my deluxe copy today and was impressed. There has been alot of opinions on Macca's new album but very little on this one particularly as it is the number 1 album in the UK at this time. I only had the vinyl versions before and I have to say this sounds amazing.
I've just watched the DVD and love the documentary and overall I forgot how great this project was!!!!
But what do you think???
Incidentally my number is 39681 which is probably quite high, I wonder who has the lowest!!!

This item has become SO collectable you'd better not OPEN it.
Currently priced around UKP75 although copies are to be found for the retail price if you're lucky. Don't open it. Just buy another copy of the cheaper non-limited version!!

I wanted the deluxe set and ordered it on Amazon.com well before it was to be released; but much to my dismay, the set must have sold out. And I'm not so sure they'll be putting out more deluxe sets so I finally caved and bought the standard 3-disc set seen in stores.

According to "The British Beatles Fanclub Magazine" Oct 2007, the limited "Deluxe" version is being re-issued on 20th November - making it not such a "limited edition" after all!

Rhino will also release a vinyl box set of "The Traveling Wilburys Collection", which includes a previously unreleased version of "Not Alone Anymore" plus the 12" extended versions of "Handle With Care" and "End Of The Line". Why these tracks were not included on the CD version is anybody's guess, but why flog a thing once when you can flog the same thing several times over...The vinyl edition also included a "collectable" album sized book, plus additional vintage postcards and posters.

Will I buy it yet again.....of course I Will!!!
Man I could smell your breath a mile away.

I own vol.1 and vol.3 from all those years ago, that's good enough for me.
