Material World

Postby dsnito » Tue Sep 03, 2002 4:24 pm

"Living In The Material World" shows his Krishna's spiritual phylosophy with an ironic and humorous cover of his gorgeous palace on the background and a plantiful banquet table, and made a hit on the charts with the peaceful "Give me Love", one of my George's fave song. I rate this album as good, well produced by P.Spector and with an excellent musicians crew(Ringo, Nicky Hopkins, Gary Wright, Jim Keltner, Klaus Voorman, Jim Horn, etc.), and brings yet remakable George's slide guitar presence.

Peace.

It is a good album isn't it Dsnito. I particularly like the tracks Don't Let Me Wait Too Long, Try Some Buy Some, and of course the wonderful single Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth).

Yes---great single my George. Like most of his post ATMP albums of the 70's, was a bit light on good material IMHO.

There is a "That Is All" version by Harry Nilsson that I like more than George´s original. Did you hear that already??

Peace.

Speaking of Harry N, has anyone ever heard the classic "You're Breaking my Heart"? Hilarious.

Liam, I don't know if you mean you are having trouble finding it, but if that is what you meant, I saw it on CD yesterday in HMV in Wakefield for £16.99. I notice from one of your other posts that you're living in the Sheffield area (I live just outside Leeds), so I thought maybe Wakefield's near enough for you to travel. Incidentally, they also had Dark Horse and Concert For Bangla Desh on CD too.
