Discussions related to George Harrison as Beatle and his solo career.

George died a month or so after my parents so though I did know of the news watched and taped on TV all the tributes to him, it really didn't and hasn't sunk in. Because so it did not affect me as the news of John did.

I had a New Years gg to do, that I thought would be good therapy so I added some special Georg Songs as my tribute to start off the 2nd set.

Isn't it A Pity, All Things Must Pass, What is Life, My Sweet Lord and Something.

I always respected George and loved lots of his solo stuff but learning and producing these tracks especially All Things Must Pass was a very emotional experience. Performing them was an honor even though I'd say most never heard any of those songs except for Something.

I should think most people know at least "My Sweet Lord", at least in these latitudes. Over here it's still getting a fair amount of airplay.

In one interview he stated how it was beyond him that fans would so obsess about the Fabs..."I wonder what the Beatles are doing NOW?" kinda thing--which I used to do as a kid, lol!

Everthing I've read about his disposition is that he was an enthusiastic, super-sweet and loving guy. He comes across that way too, at least to me, on the Anthology videos.

When I think of him, whenever possible I play some songs of his (in my head or in the CD player) and that gets me in a good frame of mind, a good mood.

That´s true Esto, it´s a very touching concert, with all the lovely musicians who give their old friend such an unforgetable evening.
You must appreciate the day...

I did remember him more than once yesterday. I am getting more and more into his music these days - thanks to Mike and Macca Radio. God knows what George could have given us still if it could have been...

George is in a wonderful place
but I do miss him here on Earth
His music and thoughts remain today
And Stella just gave birth
to a baby on George's b-day !
