I agree.. I love the tune. I have since I first heard it in 72 but I believe Lennon's Sunday Bloody Sunday, John Sinclair, Angela and Luck of the Irish are far more effective protest songs. I feel that a protest song should not have the make up of a melodic hit song. I think that if GIBTTI was a pop song like Helen Wheels for instance and not such a sensitive subject Paul would have had a #1 hit with it. It was another great Macca melody. John had protest in his genetic makeup I believe.
