This was recorded before "Walls And Bridges" but released after his death as an album and it´s an almost "unplugged" work, because the "side B" of the album is some W&B tracks without orchestration but just with an acoustic guitar accompaniment. The side A didn´t mean a lot to me, but the B side moved me well.

I didn´t know that the album title Menlove Avenue when I bought the album was where John lived when was a little boy. I knew it just when I read "The Ballad Of J&Y".

It's quite good for an album of outtakes. I like Here I Go Again and To Know Her Is To Love Her. I think the latter track came from the Rock 'n' Roll sessions but I'm not sure.

I think that´s so Jet, those tracks came from "R&R" sessions of late ´73 and also from "W&B"´s of '74. I didn´t like so much the "A-side", liked only "R&R People" and "Here We Go Again" but the W&B´s outtakes pleased me a lot.
