No.

Singing Imagine is such a cliche for anyone these days. It's just so....obvious.

I really hate it when people say Imagine is their favourite Lennon song...because it just isn't. Fact. Especially people who don't really know anything about the Beatles.

Paul McCartney- 'I’d like people to think I was… sensational. And that I was a damn good (bass) player and that I was a damn good singer and a damn good writer, and I’d like them to wrap that all up in a little ball and swallow it.'

There's no telling what John might've thought, but there's one thing for sure: he liked to be unpredictable, so his reaction would possibly be unexpected. Like: he'd say...... Madonna, well she's an intriguing bimbo but she's got style. I like her a** better than her singing, though......

Anyone who sings this song is paying homage to Yoko as much as they are paying homage to John. Lennon said it should have been a Lennon/Ono credit!!!

Did she help with the lyrics or music-wise ??

Otherwise why give her credit ?

Oh well...OK to Madonna if comparing to a video I saw once where actress Joan Collins was reciting Imagine with an orchestra. That creeped me!!!!
Diana Ross version is far better than that!!!

You all will probably disagree, but ALMOST anyone other than John singing Imagine is "sacreligious" to me. It's a great song, not my favorite, but John loved it and it really was alot of what he was about. It is just....his song. I dunno, it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. :puker
