This quote makes me laugh, 'cause it seems to me that John was so fond of fighting and insulting that he hardly has any right to teach others about peace and love. He's the greatest hypocrite I've ever heard of. Julian once said that himself.
Besides. I would like to hear him saying "war is over if you want it" after living in Israel for a while.
Same goes to "Give Peace a Chance".

If all the people wh oare fighting in the world just stopped for a minute and thought about "war is over if you want it", there'd be a bigger chance of peace in the world. If everybody wanted it, there would be peace. That's not hypocrisy, though quite just a dream that's unlikely to ever come true. Still, if that song made at least some people do something for peace as they coudl, it was worth it.
