How do one post an image?

Does anyone know how do one post an image?. I've seen people doing it, but I just don't know how.

mike has said something about the amount of space it would take up would be too much (i think)

i'm sort of a technological meathead, so if i'm off base on this, don't thrash me with a wet noodle

Step 1: Find an image. This can be any image in the whole wide webbernettings! For this post I'm going to use today's White Ninja comic.

Step 2: Find the images URL. URL = Uniform Resource Locator, this is basically the intawubble address. To get this right click on the image (or ctrl + click if you use a Mac and for some bizarre reason are using one of those 1 button mouses Apple make) and select Properties. The URL is generally next to some tag saying something like "Location:". This changes from browser to browser, copy the URL.

Step 3: Use the "img" tags to post it as shown below in the code box.

So now if you do it without the code box it should then turn out like;



Done! Alternatively you could have just clicked "FAQ" on the top of the page. Would have been a lot quicker. Have fun posting images left, right and centre. It is also basic netiquette to host the image on a free image host like Imageshack and not hotlink like I have. But to be honest I can't quite be bothered at the moment.

That is because posting images is NOT encouraged and if abused will be taken away immediately. I don't have the resource like Paul McCartney does and totally rely on donations from visitors and make up the balance of site costs myself every month since 1997. I haven't had the time to re-edit the FAQ page with the rules of conduct from the previous version.

Again, any abuse and the privilage will be take away.

Almost right. You're doing it right apart from the image that you're linking to is on your hard drive, not the internet. Upload it to somewhere like Imageshack or if you don't mind signing up to a website, Flickr or Photobucket and then use the guide I posted above to get its URL.
