I believe the question waas about the world, not about humankind.

Do you think that the natural state of the world is chaos?

Do you think that the natural state of the world is calm?

I think with or without mankind messing up the world (or saving it), the world's calm involves chaos. Think of nature shows and volcanoes... there are times of calm, but still somewhere there will be chaos on some level.

I asked her for a clarification...she copped out and said either! I think you're right about the volcanoes and such...nature can only strike her delicate balance in those ways, although some are much more delicate...one has to destroy the perfection that is an egg to hatch a dove...
