When ABBA had their first hit here (Waterloo) I listened to their album and was pleasantly surprised to find some catchy melodies and danceable rocknroll. Sometimes the music seemed to drift toward the "bubblegum" arena, but I felt that the music contained a lot of creativity. My favorites were "SOS" and "Name of the Game".

A fellow fan! At last!

The faves you listed are among my numerous favourites as well, as is Waterloo the song, but Waterloo the album is probably IMHO their weakest album effort. It has some good stuff but they went on to do much better - and in fact with the Ring Ring album, had already done a much more well-rounded effort.
